About this role
Role overview Lead product design as a senior individual contributor embedded in a product area, partnering closely with product management and engineering from discovery through implementation. Alongside designing cohesive customer experiences, you’ll take ownership of selected design practices and help teams solve broader problems through expertise, facilitation, and influence.
Responsibilities - Build deep understanding of the product’s users, workflows, business context, technical environment, and changing needs. - Shape product direction by translating user needs, business goals, technical constraints, research, and product evidence into requirements and design recommendations. - Lead end-to-end design, including problem framing, workflow definition, prototyping, validation, interaction design, and implementation partnership. - Use customer feedback, research, analytics, and technical input to assess design choices and improve usability, accessibility, and interaction quality. - Own and improve a design practice such as critique, onboarding, research, prototyping, or knowledge sharing; create reusable guidance and tools where useful. - Mentor designers, convene the people needed to address cross-team issues, and share expertise so others can make decisions and grow their own areas of ownership.
Requirements - The listing describes a senior, hands-on product design leadership role requiring deep product and domain expertise, effective partnership across product and engineering, and the ability to guide work through ambiguity and organizational complexity. - It emphasizes evidence-based judgment, facilitation, clear problem framing, and the ability to lead change without relying on direct people management.
Nice to have - Experience with AI-enabled design tools or workflows, improving design practices in a complex enterprise, or developing functional prototypes.
Benefits and work setup - The position is listed as remote, with no relocation assistance. The U.S. salary range is $120,200–$200,200, with geographic adjustments and potential discretionary annual bonus. Listed benefits include health coverage, retirement contributions, tuition and adoption assistance, paid parental leave, paid holidays, and permissive time off.
