Cloud Program Cost FinOps Analyst (AWS)

Role overview Support a large federal cloud resell program as a FinOps Analyst focused on AWS cost optimization and financial transparency. The role partners with assigned customers to interpret billing data, recommend efficiency improvements, and drive adoption of automated cost-management tools. Day-to-day work blends cloud financial analysis, customer enablement, and reporting across a hybrid cloud environment.

Responsibilities - Collect and review financial data from cloud sources such as AWS Cost Explorer, custom dashboards, and native cost-management tools. - Build, update, and maintain financial deliverables in JIRA, Confluence, Excel, and other reporting platforms. - Analyze customer cloud usage patterns and recommend optimization tactics such as AWS Savings Plans and Reserved Instances, plus remediation for low-utilization resources. - Help manage master payer accounts with more than 100 linked accounts, ensuring accurate allocation and billing. - Deliver responsive customer support, training, and FinOps education to improve adoption of cost-saving processes. - Contribute financial and usage reporting to the broader hybrid cloud team, including monthly billing and funding utilization summaries.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience, certifications, or training. - At least one year of relevant experience in cloud or financial operations, with hands-on FinOps work. - Familiarity with AWS and exposure to Azure, Oracle Cloud (OCI), or GCP cost analysis and usage reports. - Strong analytical thinking, cost management, client billing, and cloud technology skills. - Effective written and verbal communication and solid organizational abilities. - Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance, including onsite fingerprinting and a federal background investigation.

Nice to have - Two or more years of relevant experience. - FinOps Practitioner Certification. - Hands-on keyboard capability driving direct cost-savings recommendations. - Expert-level Microsoft Excel skills. - Analytics or query experience tied to cloud billing data. - Cost analysis experience on Oracle Cloud (OCI) or GCP.
