The role also manages hardware escalations, returns, and configuration records, while building repeatable processes with engineering, technicians, purchasing, and implementation teams.
Responsibilities - Prepare deployment schedules, equipment kits, parts status, shipping plans, and site prerequisites. - Lead hardware coordination at installations and go-lives, then transition support to field operations. - Triage escalated hardware issues, route them to the appropriate specialists, and track them through resolution. - Manage return assessments, coordinate failure analysis, and share recurring issue trends with engineering and suppliers. - Maintain bills of materials, revisions, and hardware configuration and serial traceability across programs. - Plan development builds and test equipment, document readiness and returns processes, and flag supply risks early.
Requirements - Experience owning end-to-end hardware readiness for deployments, production launches, or new product builds, including schedules, parts, kits, and handoffs. - Experience maintaining or establishing hardware records or processes, such as bills of materials, configuration control, inventory, or returns management. - Ability to interpret assembly and part drawings, electrical schematics, and harness pinouts, and to troubleshoot hardware hands-on. - Ability to manage a field issue from initial report through resolution while keeping stakeholders informed. - Strong attention to detail and adaptability when plans change.
Nice to have - Background in warehouses, material handling, or forklift environments; robotics or autonomous vehicle deployments; or supplier and contract manufacturer coordination. - Familiarity with engineering change orders, document control, good documentation practices, or good manufacturing practices.
Benefits and work setup - US-based, remote or on site in Pittsburgh. Expect about one week per month on site in Pittsburgh, with travel to active customer deployments taking priority. Eastern time zone experience is a plus.
