About this role
Role overview A client-service accounting team is hiring an Account Manager to deliver accounting, financial reporting, and analysis support across a portfolio of client engagements. The position combines hands-on bookkeeping and reporting work with direct client, vendor, and auditor interaction in a deadline-driven practice serving multiple clients simultaneously.
Responsibilities - Run day-to-day accounting operations for assigned clients, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, time billing, payroll processing, general ledger maintenance, and tax payments. - Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements and reports, as well as weekly forecasts that summarize current and projected financial positions. - Support month-end and quarter-end close activities by preparing and reviewing balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, and reconciling general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy. - Record and reconcile investment transactions, maintain records of client assets, liabilities, and transactions, and contribute to quarterly management reporting. - Act as a liaison between clients and external auditors during annual financial and payroll audits, and prepare requested financial information and analysis for client management teams. - Manage multiple concurrent client engagements, prioritize competing deadlines, communicate with vendors on billing and payroll matters, and identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and reporting.
Requirements - Bachelor's degree preferred in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, with at least two years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in public accounting or another client-service environment. - Working knowledge of general accounting principles, financial reporting standards, general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, financial statement preparation, and month-end close processes. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects, clients, and deadlines at once. - Clear verbal and written communication skills, with a client-service orientation and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with managers and teammates. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word, plus experience with accounting software and general ledger systems; willingness to learn new financial tools quickly. - Self-motivated and proactive approach, comfortable operating in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Nice to have - Hands-on experience with QuickBooks or similar small-business accounting platforms.
