About this role
Role overview
Lead product design from early discovery through production-ready delivery, shaping both what gets built and how customers experience it. You will work directly with founders, product leaders, clients, and engineers on projects that may start with ambiguous goals or limited existing design processes, balancing user needs, business priorities, and technical constraints.
Responsibilities - Turn business goals into product direction and customer experiences in partnership with founders and stakeholders. - Lead design end to end, choosing the right level of research and detail for each project. - Conduct research and user testing, and develop interaction design with accessibility in mind. - Resolve trade-offs among customer needs, business goals, and engineering constraints; communicate rationale and keep collaborators aligned. - Deliver polished visual and interaction work ready for implementation, and contribute a considered point of view on design craft and process. - Present work to clients and collaborate closely with product managers and engineers through delivery.
Requirements - Experience leading product design from strategy and discovery through shipped, production-ready work with customer and business impact. - Strong judgment about when to investigate deeply and when to move quickly. - Solid UX practice across research, interaction design, testing, and accessibility. - Strong visual craft, including layout, typography, iconography, color, and motion. - Clear written, verbal, and visual communication, including presenting directly to clients and navigating disagreement. - Experience working with startups or founding teams where design practices may need to be established. A portfolio is required.
