Role overview A senior individual-contributor role owning test automation and quality for entire product areas or major features at a fintech company focused on rent payments. The position architects automation frameworks, leads test strategy for complex systems, and partners across engineering, product, and quality to deliver reliable releases.
Responsibilities - Architect, implement, and optimize automated test frameworks for complex product areas with an emphasis on reliability and maintainability - Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites covering API, UI, and integration testing - Lead test strategy development and perform risk analysis for major features and systems - Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous integration and delivery - Proactively identify systemic quality issues and drive cross-team process improvements to expand coverage and efficiency - Analyze test coverage, surface gaps, and implement solutions to raise product quality - Collaborate with engineering, product, and quality leaders on release planning and quality initiatives - Mentor junior SDETs and QA team members, review their code and test cases, and champion quality best practices - Investigate complex defects and production issues through advanced debugging and root cause analysis
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience - 5+ years of experience in software development and test automation - Advanced proficiency in multiple programming languages and test automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or RestAssured - Strong expertise in API, UI, and integration testing - Proficient with CI/CD pipeline integration and optimization - Skilled in test strategy development, risk analysis, and test architecture - Advanced debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills - Solid understanding of database systems and advanced SQL, plus experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Datadog or New Relic
