Mid-Senior Python Developer

Role overview A fast-growing API and AI security company is hiring a remote Mid-Senior Python Developer to build core backend services for its security platform. The role places strong emphasis on producing clean, well-documented code, and both direct hire and contracting arrangements may be considered. The team is distributed across Europe and values collaboration, continuous learning, and maintainable systems.

Responsibilities - Collaborate with developers and product managers to design, develop, and deploy robust, scalable backend services - Write clean, efficient, maintainable code primarily in Python 3.11+, using frameworks such as Flask or boto3 - Design and implement RESTful APIs and services with attention to performance and security - Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including code comments, technical specs, design docs, onboarding guides, and internal knowledge-base articles - Debug and troubleshoot complex issues, participate in code reviews, and contribute to architecture discussions

Requirements - Proven experience designing and shipping production-grade Python applications - Solid grasp of Python 3.10+, data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming - Hands-on experience building and consuming RESTful APIs - Familiarity with relational and/or NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL or MongoDB - Comfort with Git and GitHub or GitLab for version control - Strong written and verbal communication in English - Based in Ireland, Finland, or another EU/EEA country - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience

Nice to have - Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP - Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or CI/CD pipelines - Experience with testing frameworks such as Pytest - Understanding of cybersecurity principles related to AI and API security - Personal projects or a portfolio showcasing backend skills
