Senior Java Software Engineer

Role overview Build and improve backend services for a platform that helps people discover live experiences and supports event creators. You’ll contribute across the software delivery cycle, from design and implementation through production, with a focus on quality, reliability, and scale. The role is based in Spain and works closely with Product, Data, and Engineering teams.

Responsibilities - Design and deliver end-to-end features within an engineering squad. - Develop and maintain services and REST APIs, including their implementation and use by other systems. - Contribute to architectural discussions and improve service performance, reliability, and scalability. - Work with event-driven systems and help strengthen observability and delivery practices. - Review code, share technical knowledge, and take ownership of core components. - Collaborate across teams to improve the platform and developer experience.

Requirements - Strong understanding of software design practices, testing, and design patterns. - Experience delivering code from development through production. - Experience implementing and consuming RESTful APIs. - Knowledge of relational databases and SQL. - Professional proficiency in English.

Nice to have - Experience with Java and Spring or Spring Boot. - Familiarity with NoSQL databases, Docker, Kubernetes, Git, Jenkins, or CI/CD pipelines. - Exposure to Elasticsearch, RabbitMQ, or Agile ways of working.
