About this role
Role overview
Shape how people understand and navigate a digital healthcare service, from their first interaction through ongoing care. This hands-on senior role combines content strategy with substantial writing and editing, and includes establishing content design practices as the first dedicated hire.
Responsibilities
- Identify what patients need to know at each stage and make the next step clear. - Develop and test messaging, then refine it using data and patient feedback. - Write and edit content for product experiences, email, push notifications, onboarding, ongoing care, and re-engagement. - Work with product, design, lifecycle marketing, clinical, and marketing teams to keep information accurate and communications consistent. - Turn complex healthcare topics into clear, approachable language, adapting the voice to each situation. - Create content guidelines, tools, and workflows—including AI-supported approaches—and coach colleagues through feedback and critique.
Requirements
- At least five years in content design, UX writing, or copywriting for a consumer digital product or service. - A portfolio showing hands-on work across product content and customer communications, with the strategy behind it. - Strong writing, editing, and editorial judgment, including the ability to make complex information clear and concise. - Experience with AI writing tools, including prompts, voice or channel guidelines, and evaluating output quality. - Ability to explain decisions, work across disciplines, and manage competing priorities. - Initiative and resourcefulness to build a content design practice from the ground up.
Benefits and work setup
- Remote-first work from anywhere in Canada. - Medical, dental, and vision coverage; a maternity and paternity policy; and four weeks of vacation, including a holiday week. - Stock options, competitive compensation, and professional development alongside senior leaders.
