Remote job
Senior Software Engineer (CCC Auto / Agentic)
Job details
About this role
Role overview Build and operate backend systems that connect AI agents with claims workflows, helping move insurance claims through durable, traceable processes. You will own a product area from early scoping through production, applying distributed-systems judgment to reliability, data security, failure handling, and the use of AI coding tools.
Responsibilities - Scope ambiguous needs with product managers and data scientists, then deliver Python and TypeScript services through production operation. - Design and run event-driven, multi-tenant workflows, accounting for failures, replay behavior, and operating costs before systems reach heavy load. - Maintain tracing and audit records for model calls and agent steps so recommendations can be reconstructed and linked to their sources. - Model claims automation data across relational, document, and graph stores while protecting sensitive data and tenant boundaries. - Write design documents for complex systems, review designs and code, and mentor engineers in the area. - Improve team practices for agentic coding tools by refining specifications and guardrails, then reviewing generated code to the same standard as other changes. - Participate in shared on-call coverage for owned systems.
Requirements - Six or more years of professional software engineering experience, including designing, shipping, and operating an event-driven production system. - Strong Python and TypeScript skills, with experience in a systems language such as Rust, Go, Java, or C#. - Applied understanding of distributed systems, including concurrency, consistency, event ordering, and failure behavior. - Experience with message brokers such as Kafka or Azure Event Hubs/Service Bus, handling duplicate, late, and failed events without losing or processing work twice. - Experience designing and developing with relational, document, and graph databases, including decisions around partitioning, consistency, and tenant isolation. - Cloud operations on Azure or AWS, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and hands-on experience with a durable workflow engine such as Temporal or Durable Task Scheduler. - Daily production use of an agentic coding tool, with a clear approach to constraining context, verifying results, and rejecting unsuitable generated changes. - Experience writing cross-team technical design documents and communicating trade-offs to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
Nice to have React and TypeScript experience that supports full-stack delivery is an added advantage.
