Role overview
A Senior Product Designer is needed to shape technology that empowers neurodivergent individuals and people with physical, sensory, and other disabilities. The role spans a portfolio of special education and assistive technology products serving schools and workplaces, with a particular focus on Individualized Education Program (IEP) solutions. Designers partner closely with Product, Engineering, Research, Content, and Marketing to deliver accessible, coherent experiences across interconnected products.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners across Product, Engineering, Research, Content, and Marketing to deliver experiences that meet user and business needs. - Own end-to-end design work within scope, contributing design expertise from discovery through delivery and iteration. - Help frame problems, identify opportunities, and contribute design insight to product strategy and planning. - Design across interconnected products, workflows, and user journeys to create scalable, coherent experiences. - Translate user insights, product analytics, and business objectives into intuitive, accessible, and scalable design solutions. - Work closely with Engineering to weigh technical constraints and opportunities, ensuring solutions are practical and well-implemented. - Contribute to and evolve the design system to support consistency, scalability, and accessibility across products. - Explore and apply AI where it adds meaningful value, including design workflows, prototyping, and new product experiences, while considering trust, transparency, and user control. - Advocate for inclusive design and ensure work meets or exceeds relevant accessibility standards. - Partner with researchers to integrate user insights into iterative design.
Requirements
- Senior-level product design experience with a portfolio of complex digital products, demonstrated impact, and a clear design rationale. - Experience designing for cognitive load reduction and against recognised accessibility standards, including WCAG 2.2. - Background designing across interconnected products, complex workflows, or end-to-end user journeys while considering the wider ecosystem. - Hands-on experience contributing to and evolving design systems. - Strong prototyping and interaction design skills, with the ability to use prototypes to explore, test, and communicate ideas. - Proficiency with modern design tools such as Figma. - Familiarity with AI-enhanced design workflows and emerging human-AI interaction patterns, including concepts like trust, transparency, uncertainty, and user control. - Clear communication and ability to influence design decisions across a range of stakeholders. - Strong collaboration with Product Management and Engineering, balancing user needs, business goals, and technical constraints. - Understanding of modern product development approaches, including Agile, Lean UX, continuous discovery, and iterative delivery.
Nice to have
- Experience designing across Web, iOS, and Android within a complex SaaS environment. - Background designing for education, accessibility, assistive technology, or other complex user needs. - Experience designing or shipping AI-enabled product experiences. - Familiarity with AI-assisted prototyping or design-to-development workflows. - Comfort using product analytics and experimentation to evaluate outcomes. - Experience designing for enterprise, education, or multi-user environments with complex permissions, roles, or workflows.
