Role overview The Manager of Mainframe Systems Programming leads an IT team responsible for systems programming across a managed-services environment. The role combines technical oversight with people leadership, driving project execution, mentoring staff, and maintaining alignment with broader business unit objectives.

Responsibilities - Direct and develop team members through mentoring, career management, regular one-on-ones, and quarterly and annual reviews. - Provide technical leadership for systems programming solutions and act as a point of contact in client, team, and business unit meetings. - Manage the team's incident and request queues, monitoring aging tickets and ensuring timely resolution. - Coordinate project management artifacts, status reporting, and risk assessments aligned with client and BU activity. - Support onboarding of new clients and participate in internal and external audits. - Delegate work, review assignments for quality, and facilitate training sessions to keep the team current with evolving standards and technologies.

Requirements - 10 years of Mainframe Systems Programming experience. - 5+ years of related IT operations experience, ideally with a bachelor's degree (relevant experience may substitute). - 3–5 years of management experience in a related field. - Strong problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and self-motivation. - Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead across organizational levels.
