Mid-Level Java Engineer

Role overview This is a remote, mid-level backend engineering role based in Brazil, focused on building and maintaining Java-based services and APIs. The position involves participating in the full software development lifecycle while leveraging AI-assisted tools to improve coding efficiency and quality.

Responsibilities - Develop and maintain backend services and APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and related technologies - Implement features and bug fixes based on requirements from senior engineers and tech leads - Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, and deployment - Use AI-powered development tools such as GitHub Copilot and AI-assisted debugging to improve coding efficiency and quality - Write and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure software reliability - Contribute to code reviews and collaborate with team members to improve codebases - Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in a timely manner

Requirements - Solid experience in Java, with Java 17+ preferred - Experience with Spring and Spring Boot frameworks - Experience with Hibernate or JPA - Experience with relational databases such as MySQL and basic exposure to NoSQL databases such as MongoDB - Experience with microservices architecture and RESTful API design - Familiarity with containers such as Docker and AWS cloud services including EC2, S3, and RDS - Familiarity with GenAI practices including prompt engineering and AI-assisted development tools - Experience with version control using Git
