About this role
Role overview This Solutions Engineer role partners closely with the sales organization to provide deep technical expertise on an advanced observability and application performance monitoring platform. Based remotely in or near Chicago, the engineer runs compelling product demonstrations, leads proof-of-concept evaluations, and helps translate complex technical capabilities into clear business value for prospects and customers.
Responsibilities - Deliver technical demonstrations at trade shows, key account meetings, and marketing events to drive new and expansion business - Partner with sales representatives to identify new opportunities and uncover incremental revenue within existing accounts - Lead proof-of-concept engagements and cloud architecture discussions, either directly or through channel partners - Present the platform's vision and capabilities to executive-level stakeholders, including C-suite audiences - Provide technical guidance through the discovery, solution evaluation, and proposal phases of the sales cycle - Relay qualified customer feedback to product management to influence roadmap and market positioning
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent education or experience - 5+ years of experience within the observability or application performance monitoring space - Hands-on experience with web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, plus programming or scripting languages like Java, .NET, PHP, Go, or Node.js - Advanced knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems - Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, plus modern technologies like containers, Kubernetes, serverless functions, and CI/CD pipelines - Experience with DevOps or SRE practices and automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Terraform
