Role overview
Reduce security risk across a SaaS product environment and internal IT systems by designing, implementing, and improving cybersecurity controls. The role works closely with engineering to embed security in the software lifecycle, strengthen cloud protections and monitoring, and respond to incidents. It also contributes to threat analysis, vulnerability remediation, security policies, and third-party risk reviews.
Responsibilities - Integrate security practices into software development and partner with engineering on controls for cloud resources, including networks, compute instances, and containers. - Improve security monitoring by implementing SIEM capabilities and strengthening logging and auditability across product and internal systems. - Track emerging threats, recommend mitigations, and prepare regular threat intelligence updates. - Help investigate, contain, and mitigate cyber incidents, including account compromise, malicious automation, data exposure, and infected devices. - Monitor vulnerabilities and coordinate remediation where needed. - Contribute to security policies, third-party assessments, control improvements, and awareness programs.
Requirements - At least three years of security experience and practical experience conducting security reviews with software developers. - Strong understanding of the OWASP Top 10 for web applications and AI-related risks. - Experience securing AWS environments and infrastructure as code, such as Terraform. - Experience implementing security monitoring tools, identifying useful detection scenarios, and improving logging. - Knowledge of cloud security, secure software development, and CI/CD practices. - Strong written and verbal communication skills, including documenting security processes and recommendations.
Nice to have
A bachelor's degree; CISSP, CCSP, or GIAC certification; knowledge of ISO 27001, NIST, or SANS frameworks; and experience with HITRUST or SOC 2.
