Job details
About this role
Role overview A senior engineering role focused on safeguarding reliability across the critical services of a large-scale, AI-powered learning platform. The position blends hands-on systems architecture with cross-team leadership, driving the standards, observability, and incident response practices that keep customer-facing learning experiences performant and available.
Responsibilities - Partner with product engineering teams to define service-level indicators and objectives, then build multi-quarter reliability roadmaps for core domains. - Lead incident response during high-severity outages, coordinating across multiple service owners and turning post-incident learnings into durable fixes. - Champion company-wide adoption of modern reliability patterns, safe deployment techniques, and scalable infrastructure designs. - Build and refine observability tooling so issues surface before they reach end users. - Advise on product and architecture decisions to balance feature delivery speed with platform stability. - Mentor senior engineers, elevate engineering practices, and contribute to hiring across the reliability organization.
Requirements - Six to ten years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or production engineering roles working on complex distributed systems. - Strong command of a major cloud provider (AWS preferred), container orchestration platforms, and Infrastructure as Code tooling. - Ability to write clean, performant code in at least one general-purpose language, plus a bias for automating repetitive work. - Demonstrated success leading large-scale incident management and driving meaningful reliability programs. - Clear communication skills and a track record of aligning engineering decisions with broader product and business goals.
Nice to have - Experience designing self-healing infrastructure and zero-downtime deployment pipelines. - Background scaling multi-tenant SaaS platforms through rapid-growth phases.
Benefits and work setup - Hybrid schedule: three days per week in office (Tuesday through Thursday), with flexibility on the remaining days. - Employee Share Purchase Plan offering a discounted purchase rate, alongside a competitive compensation package. - Health benefits coverage for medical care needs. - Paid vacation, company-wide recharge days, floating holidays for cultural observances, and a paid day off for your birthday. - Parental leave support and access to Employee Resource Groups and recurring company events.
