Remote job
Signal Integrity Engineer
Job details
About this role
Role overview
Lead signal- and power-integrity analysis for next-generation, high-speed digital hardware. The work combines electromagnetic and power-delivery simulation, measurement correlation, PCB design review, and technical guidance for interfaces operating at data rates up to 448 Gbps in server, networking, and data-center systems.
Responsibilities
- Run high-frequency electromagnetic simulations for 224 Gbps and 448 Gbps interfaces using tools such as Ansys HFSS and Keysight ADS. - Perform power delivery network analysis and evaluate the behavior of high-performance board designs. - Analyze PAM4 links at 56 and 112 Gbps and NRZ links of at least 25 Gbps, including eye diagrams, jitter, noise, and S-parameter correlation with measurements. - Develop and document recommendations for impedance control, transmission lines, PCB stack-ups, and manufacturing constraints. - Produce clear technical reports describing simulation methods, findings, and design recommendations. - Review and optimize PCB layouts with layout engineers and apply knowledge of Ethernet interfaces ranging from 25G through 800G.
Requirements
- At least five years of hands-on signal-integrity simulation experience for high-speed digital systems. - Proficiency with relevant tools such as Ansys HFSS, Cadence Sigrity, PowerSI, Ansys SIwave, and Keysight ADS. - Direct experience with PAM4 at 56 or 112 Gbps and NRZ links at 25 Gbps or faster. - Deep understanding of signal and power integrity, PCB stack-up optimization, impedance control, and fabrication limitations. - Strong organization and technical-writing skills.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in electrical engineering, physics, mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience. - Eight or more years evaluating signal and power integrity in high-performance electronic systems. - Advanced experience creating design rules for ultra-high-speed interconnects. - Experience working with PCB fabrication vendors to implement and validate impedance-controlled layouts.
Benefits and work setup
For roles based in the United States, the stated benefits include PPO and HMO medical plans, dental and vision coverage, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, short- and long-term disability coverage, a company-matched 401(k), and paid time off. The employer also states an equal-opportunity and anti-discrimination commitment.
