About this role
Role overview A senior, hands-on strategy leadership role standing up a dedicated Discovery & Framing function for a mission-focused technology organization. The role is about helping customers define the right problem in measurable terms before any solution is chosen, blending executive facilitation, structured problem solving, and team building.
Responsibilities - Personally prepare for and facilitate high-value discovery engagements with executives, mission leaders, operators, technical stakeholders, and acquisition leaders. - Establish the methodology, engagement model, playbook, templates, quality standards, and exemplars for the practice. - Build and coach a team of practitioners while remaining personally involved in the most strategic engagements. - Translate what is learned into clear, measurable problem definitions expressed in the customer's own language. - Quantify impact using mission-relevant measures, establish baselines, and define success criteria with the customer.
Requirements - 8+ years in strategy consulting, management consulting, customer strategy, value advisory, or another highly structured client-facing problem-solving environment. - Demonstrated record of leading executive interviews, workshops, diagnostic engagements, and cross-functional working sessions. - Strong skills in hypothesis-led discovery, issue structuring, root-cause analysis, stakeholder mapping, impact quantification, and executive communication. - Ability to rapidly learn a customer's mission context and translate across mission, operational, acquisition, and technical audiences.
Benefits and work setup Remote within the United States. Compensation is $204,000–$276,000 USD based on national benchmarking.
