About this role
Role overview This is a senior product leadership role owning the strategy, roadmap, and commercial outcomes for a B2B software product line serving feed mills and grain businesses. The position is accountable for product-level ARR, net revenue retention, and win rate, with direct influence on pricing, packaging, and go-to-market decisions. The work blends deep agribusiness domain expertise with hands-on product management, customer discovery, and cross-functional leadership across engineering, services, support, and commercial teams.
Responsibilities - Define and drive the long-term vision, strategy, and roadmap for a feed mill management software line, aligning engineering, services, support, and commercial stakeholders around priorities that improve retention, cross-sell, upsell, and new-market growth. - Own product-level financial outcomes including ARR, net revenue retention, and win rate, and develop pricing and packaging recommendations with tier design and customer migration plans. - Lead market and customer discovery through competitive research, win/loss analysis, advisory group facilitation, industry event representation, and rapid validation using AI-built prototypes. - Oversee AI-enabled product capabilities, including quality bars, failure modes, customer trust, and an AI-assisted discovery workflow. - Prioritize the backlog against the roadmap by defining use cases, requirements, and measurable outcomes, and run tiered launches with readiness gates and clear success criteria. - Lead without direct authority by brokering competing priorities, coaching junior product managers, and partnering with product marketing on enablement, analyst briefings, webinars, and user conferences.
Requirements - Meaningful experience in agribusiness, feed manufacturing, or commodity trading, with working knowledge of at least two areas: commodity merchandising, ingredient procurement, feed plant operations, or livestock feed regulatory requirements. - Proven track record owning a B2B software product's roadmap and business outcomes, balancing strategy with delivery. - Demonstrated commercial judgment with evidence that pricing, packaging, win/loss, or business case work changed a decision. - Strong discovery skills with the ability to push past a customer's requested solution to the underlying problem and validate before committing engineering time. - Excellent written and verbal communication, able to lay out a problem, options, tradeoffs, and a recommendation in a narrative that someone can act on without a meeting. - Hands-on daily use of AI for research, drafting, analysis, and prototyping, with judgment about when outputs need verification. - Technical fluency to discuss data models, integrations, and product details with development teams, and a bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
Nice to have - Experience with feed or ration formulation software, familiarity with nutrition or feed labeling regulations, a background in software development, or prior work product managing AI or data-driven capabilities.
