AI Forward Deployed Engineer - France

Role overview This is a customer-facing AI engineering role on a specialised Forward Deployed Engineering team that delivers professional services engagements to help enterprise clients design, build, and ship first-of-kind AI applications. The position blends hands-on engineering with advisory work, sitting at the intersection of applied research and production deployment for generative AI solutions. The role is based in or near Paris, France, with remote work permitted from within France only, and reports to senior engineering leadership in EMEA.

Responsibilities - Design and develop generative AI solutions that draw on the latest techniques from modern AI research to address concrete customer problems. - Own end-to-end production rollouts of consumer-facing and internal generative AI applications, including evaluation and optimisation. - Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers across a range of industries and use cases. - Present at major industry conferences and contribute to internal and external thought leadership. - Partner with product and engineering teams to influence roadmap decisions and long-term technical priorities.

Requirements - Hands-on experience building generative AI applications such as retrieval-augmented generation, multi-agent systems, text-to-SQL, and fine-tuning. - Familiarity with common AI frameworks and libraries, for example HuggingFace, LangChain, DSPy, pandas, scikit-learn, and PyTorch. - Experience deploying production-grade machine learning and GenAI systems on at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or GCP. - Graduate degree in a quantitative discipline such as computer science, engineering, statistics, or operations research, or equivalent practical experience. - Demonstrated ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. - Willingness to travel to customer sites roughly every four to eight weeks as needed.

Nice to have - Experience processing large-scale distributed datasets with Apache Spark or a comparable unified data and AI platform.
