Role overview
A senior leadership role running the UK arm of a Forward Deployed AI Engineering team that delivers professional services engagements to help enterprises build and productionise first-of-kind generative AI applications. The position blends team building, executive-level customer advisory work, and cross-functional influence on product and GTM strategy across EMEA.
Responsibilities
- Lead, hire, and develop a team of high-performing data scientists, machine learning engineers, and team leads, scaling the organisation through process and leadership development. - Build and expand executive relationships with EMEA customers and partners, including VP, CIO, and CDO-level stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor during complex AI transformations. - Align with field engineering and sales leaders on joint strategy for strategic accounts and coordinate delivery across functions. - Shape AI professional services practice: define scalable engagement models, reusable solutions, and standardised delivery processes that travel across the global team. - Influence Product, R&D, and GTM by feeding back customer insights and delivery learnings into the product roadmap and go-to-market strategy. - Own OKRs for AI-services-led accounts, revenue, utilisation, and public references, and represent the organisation externally as a thought leader in AI/ML.
Requirements
- Extensive experience managing and scaling teams of data scientists, ML engineers, and leaders, with a record of building organisations and developing leaders. - Ability to scope, guide, and sell technical engagements and manage escalations in enterprise environments. - Deep technical expertise in machine learning, generative AI, and data science, with active curiosity to stay current. - Experience leading teams that build production ML solutions on AWS, Azure, or GCP. - Demonstrated success partnering with senior executive stakeholders on program-level strategy, technical vision, and trust. - Track record collaborating cross-functionally with Sales, Product, and GTM teams to drive business impact through AI/ML. - Graduate degree in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or Operations Research, or equivalent practical experience.
