About this role
Role overview An Application Architect / Tech Lead position focused on shaping and guiding the technical direction of a Managed Services software offering. The role combines hands-on architectural ownership with people leadership, operating in a cloud-native, Kubernetes-based environment that supports a multi-tenant SaaS product. It is a fully remote, permanent, full-time opportunity suited to a seasoned engineer ready to set standards and mentor a delivery team.
Responsibilities - Define and evolve the technical roadmap for a multi-tenant, cloud-native SaaS platform running on Kubernetes, balancing scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency. - Lead and mentor a cross-functional engineering team, setting coding standards, reviewing designs, and supporting professional growth. - Translate business and managed-services requirements into concrete application and integration architectures, documenting decisions for stakeholders. - Collaborate with operations and service delivery teams to ensure the platform meets SLAs, observability, and incident-response expectations for managed customers. - Drive continuous improvement across the software lifecycle, including deployment automation, release quality, and architectural reviews.
Requirements - Several years (roughly 5–7) of professional experience in software engineering with growing responsibility in architecture and leadership roles. - Deep, hands-on knowledge of Kubernetes and cloud-native patterns in production, including deployment, scaling, and troubleshooting. - Proven experience designing applications that run as managed services or within a multi-tenant SaaS model, with attention to isolation, security, and tenant lifecycle. - Strong grasp of modern application architecture concepts such as APIs, microservices, infrastructure as code, and CI/CD pipelines. - Ability to communicate architectural decisions clearly to engineers, product owners, and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to have - Background in managed services operations, including on-call practices, service-level reporting, and customer-facing reliability work. - Familiarity with multi-cloud or hybrid-cloud Kubernetes platforms and associated tooling for observability, policy, and cost control.
