Remote job
Senior Staff Product Architect
Job details
About this role
Role overview
A senior individual-contributor role owning the architecture of an AI-led personalization product, shaping both what gets built and how. The position sits at the intersection of product and engineering, with director-level scope but no direct reports — a fit for a seasoned builder who has led teams and now wants leverage back in technical judgment. Roughly a fifth to a third of the time is spent hands-on with code and prototyping, with AI tooling as a daily part of the craft.
Responsibilities
- Co-define the product with product managers and UX from earliest ideation through shaping, contributing to roadmap decisions before work is prioritized - Review and challenge product requirements documents, providing formal technical input and recommendations - Lead or facilitate technical shaping of initiatives, escalating to product and engineering leadership when needed - Design AI-led product capabilities, deciding where AI fits, how it grounds in internal data foundations such as a knowledge graph, and how it stays reliable, safe, and cost-effective at scale - Maintain architectural runway so enabling technical work is identified and ready ahead of roadmap commitments - Own non-functional requirements — scalability, reliability, security, cost — for the owned product - Drive cross-product architectural alignment through an internal architecture community, strengthening its review and challenge culture
Requirements
- A product builder's mindset: experience shaping what products became, with care for users and outcomes alongside systems - Staff-plus engineering background whose technical decisions have shaped whole products - Strength in product conversations — engages with product managers on the why and what, not only the how - Prior management experience, ideally as a senior engineering manager, with a deliberate choice into technical leadership - Strong stakeholder management skills: builds alignment across product, engineering, and leadership, and challenges without friction - Fluency with AI on both sides: experience shaping products with AI/LLM capabilities and daily use of AI tools in personal work
Nice to have
- Experience as an engineering director - Experience as an architect - Background in marketing products or solutions such as marketing automation, CDP, campaign tooling, or martech - Familiarity with knowledge graphs, agentic systems, or LLM-grounding architectures such as retrieval-augmented generation, tool use, and evaluation
Benefits and work setup
- Remote position based in Czechia or Slovakia, with optional in-person meetups in offices in Bratislava, Brno, or Prague - Equity grants (RSUs or stock options) depending on role, seniority, and location, plus a company performance bonus - Employee referral bonus program and recognition of work anniversaries - Extended parental leave of up to 26 calendar weeks for primary caregivers and an additional company-wide day off each quarter - Annual professional education budget, plus structured people-development and leadership-development programs - Employee Assistance Program with counselors and access to mental wellness resources such as sleep and meditation tools - Paid volunteering days and facilitation of sports, yoga, and meditation opportunities
