Job details
About this role
Role overview A senior individual-contributor role on the systems and networking side of a data-security product. The engineer will own and extend an on-endpoint network proxy that intercepts and manipulates third-party software traffic, with significant influence over product architecture in an evolving space.
Responsibilities - Hook or redirect outbound connections, terminate and re-establish TLS sessions, and apply content-aware policies in real time. - Add low-level collectors that trace data flows across applications, files, sockets, and pipes into a unified event stream. - Solve performance optimization problems across software that monitors hundreds of thousands of events with minimal impact on endpoint applications. - Design and build highly reliable code that never disrupts the end-user experience. - Build secure-by-design, hardened software that withstands real-world attacks while processing untrusted data and communicating with a backend over the internet.
Requirements - 6+ years of professional experience in systems software, networking, proxy, or security engineering, with strong depth in network interception and low-level systems. - Track record in network interception and parsing. - Prior work on at least one forward proxy used by security software. - Experience debugging, profiling, and optimizing the performance of low-level system software. - Proficiency in designing and implementing application architecture. - Experience with agile development and Scrum. - Proven ability to collaborate with a distributed cross-functional team. - Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. - Availability to frequently communicate with a distributed engineering team across Central European and US Eastern time zones.
Nice to have Prior experience in data security or endpoint protection products, or background building technologies for enterprise-scale workloads.
