About this role
Role overview Lead a remote-first, cross-functional group of Software Development Engineers in Test for a portfolio of products that handle enterprise telemetry and security data. The role blends hands-on technical leadership with people management, ensuring quality is engineered into every stage of the SDLC while introducing agentic workflows into testing practice.
Responsibilities - Own the quality strategy across the product portfolio and publish metrics that inform data-driven prioritization of the team's roadmap. - Drive continuous improvement in test automation, CI stability, defect prevention, root-cause analysis, and production escape-rate reduction. - Optimize end-to-end pipelines for both quality and velocity, removing bottlenecks for engineers and agentic workflows. - Foster a customer-first culture by running ongoing failure analysis against real customer deployment patterns. - Build strong partnerships with product management and engineering managers to embed quality standards from project inception. - Coach, mentor, and grow a distributed team of test engineers working with agentic workflows. - Support stand-by, on-call, or off-hours duties as needed.
Requirements - Demonstrated experience establishing testing strategy and quality metrics for products shipped as both SaaS and customer-managed deployments. - Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle and the changes required for agentic development. - Strong grasp of test architecture, automation, CI/CD, observability, release management, and root-cause analysis. - Hands-on experience with AI-developed tests and workflows. - BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. - Ten or more years of industry experience, including at least four years in a technical leadership role.
