Staff UX Motion Designer

Role overview A staff-level motion design role embedded within a design systems team at a widely used self-custodial crypto wallet used by millions globally. The role defines and operationalizes a shared motion language that helps product teams across surfaces build experiences that feel clear, responsive, and unmistakably on-brand.

Responsibilities - Define and maintain a coherent motion language covering how elements move, respond, and feel across the product. - Build scalable motion patterns, guidelines, and reusable assets that product teams can apply without starting from scratch. - Use motion to clarify state and guide attention, helping users understand what is happening, what changed, and what to do next. - Prototype interaction ideas and partner with product designers and engineers to bring them into production at quality and performance. - Create original illustrations and visual assets that complement and extend the motion system. - Raise the overall level of craft on the team through feedback, collaboration, and hands-on contribution.

Requirements - 6+ years of motion design experience on digital products, using animation and interaction to clarify complex flows. - Strong illustration skills and the ability to produce versatile visual assets that support motion design. - Demonstrated ability to define motion languages and patterns that scale across screens, features, and platforms. - Track record of building reusable guidelines, assets, or components that teams actually adopt. - Comfort partnering with engineers to ship motion that performs well across platforms. - Experience using prototyping to explore and communicate interaction ideas, and a clear sense of when motion helps versus when it gets in the way.

Nice to have - A portfolio demonstrating motion systems used at scale, not just one-off animations.

Benefits and work setup Remote-first, globally distributed team. US-based compensation listed between $146,000 and $218,000, with non-US packages set during the interview process. Candidates based in France, Italy, or Germany cannot be considered.
