About this role
Role overview
Lead the qualification and delivery of production-ready SONiC releases across white-box switches and varied ASIC platforms. The work spans Linux platform bring-up, SONiC subsystem development, performance and stability investigations, and coordination with client architects and silicon vendors. The team works across US and European time zones, so occasional afternoon calls are expected.
Responsibilities - Lead end-to-end bring-up, qualification, hardening, and release of SONiC on physical switches in data center topologies. - Design, extend, and debug components including SWSS, syncd, Redis state databases, and Linux services. - Trace failures across the software and hardware stack, drive root-cause analysis, and coordinate fixes with silicon vendors. - Investigate state and notification flows between APPL_DB, ASIC_DB, and syncd to prevent desynchronization and maintain fast route programming. - Guide systems, networking, and test automation specialists, with ownership of architecture, performance, and code quality.
Requirements - The source describes a technical lead role requiring expertise in SONiC and its core subsystems, including SWSS, syncd, and Redis. - Strong Linux systems and networking skills for diagnosing issues across NOS, SAI, SDK, and hardware layers. - Experience qualifying network operating system releases and working with physical switch platforms and multi-vendor test environments. - Ability to lead technical delivery and communicate clearly with client architects and silicon vendor engineering teams. - Practical experience with Docker, Ansible, and automated CI/CD pipelines. - English proficiency at B2 level or higher for technical discussions and documentation.
Nice to have
Golang development; DPDK, eBPF, or SmartNIC/DPU technologies; silicon SDKs; commercial network operating systems; AI-assisted diagnostics; or professional networking certifications.
