Java Software Engineer

Role overview Develop Java backend software for a network automation platform, helping bring network device features into the platform more quickly. You’ll convert XML- and XPath-based feature definitions into maintainable implementations, build services and APIs, and work with AI-assisted development workflows to generate and validate code.

Responsibilities - Implement backend features in Java within a networking domain. - Translate XML/XPath feature definitions into Java-based implementations. - Build and extend backend services and REST APIs that support automation workflows. - Use AI agents and development tools to assist with code generation, validation, and improvement. - Write unit and integration tests; investigate defects, performance issues, and scaling needs. - Collaborate with engineers, QA, and architects through code reviews and technical discussions, and improve development practices.

Requirements - At least five years of professional Java development experience, including backend and API work. - Strong understanding of XML and XPath, plus experience with REST services. - Knowledge of computer networking, including switching, routing, VLANs, TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP. - Experience with AI-assisted development tools or agentic AI workflows. - Experience with a cloud environment such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. - Strong analytical and communication skills, ability to work in an agile team, and English at B2 level or higher.

Nice to have - Go, CI/CD, distributed systems, frontend frameworks such as React, or code generation and model-driven development. - Experience tuning performance and improving scalability.
