About this role
Role overview A Director of Delivery Operations is needed to establish and embed the delivery practices, standards, and governance that allow teams to execute with consistency across a portfolio of government-facing projects, from kick-off through successful completion. This is an internal-facing, enabling role that shapes how projects across a Safety Net advisory portfolio run, from partnership handoff through close-out, partnering closely with program and discipline leaders. The position reports to the Senior Director of Safety Net, is a newly created role with strategic ownership, and is remote within the United States, with travel expected at no more than 15%.
Responsibilities - Own and continuously improve the organization's delivery methodology, including project management standards, tools, templates, playbooks, and governance frameworks. - Set strategic priorities for delivery infrastructure investment, making deliberate tradeoffs about where standardization adds value and where it creates friction. - Design and maintain protocols for the full project lifecycle, including handoffs from cultivation, kickoff facilitation and onboarding, and scope revision. - Collaborate with product operations to share learnings and align common processes across product and advisory work. - Administer delivery tools and templates, including the application of AI-enabled capabilities to improve how the work gets done. - Partner with senior program leadership to keep the operating model grounded in what actually works in the field.
Requirements - Senior leadership experience building and running delivery operations or PMO functions for complex, multi-project portfolios. - Demonstrated ability to design and continuously improve delivery methodology, including standards, playbooks, and governance frameworks. - Experience setting strategic priorities for delivery infrastructure and making explicit standardization tradeoffs. - Strong collaboration skills, with experience partnering across product, engineering, and program functions. - Comfort working with AI-enabled tools and shaping their use within delivery practice. - Excellent written communication and facilitation skills.
