About this role
Role overview A senior program management role focused on the operational backbone of a large design organization. The position partners with design, product, engineering, and marketing leadership to translate creative strategy into shipped experiences, while introducing AI-enabled workflows and managing the tooling ecosystem that powers day-to-day design work.
Responsibilities - Drive end-to-end delivery of complex, multi-quarter design initiatives across design, product, engineering, marketing, legal, and business development teams, ensuring predictable outcomes and clear cross-functional collaboration. - Build and deploy AI-enabled workflows that automate program management tasks such as status reporting, resource tracking, documentation synthesis, and stakeholder communication. - Own strategic vendor and contract relationships for design tooling, including negotiation, licensing optimization, compliance coordination, and management of contractors and agencies. - Lead capacity planning, roadmapping, and resource allocation, and build operational metrics plus tooling integrations that create seamless workflows across platforms. - Partner with the in-house design system team to align programs with system evolution, component adoption, and governance initiatives that scale design system usage across product teams.
Requirements - Proven track record driving complex, cross-functional programs from 0→1 and scaling operational systems in fast-paced environments. - Strong product sense and design craft sensibility, with experience across the full product development lifecycle. - Technical fluency to collaborate with design system and engineering teams, including understanding of system architecture, component APIs, and design-to-code workflows. - Demonstrated AI fluency, including experience leveraging LLMs and automation platforms to scale programs. - Vendor and contract management experience, including negotiating software contracts and optimizing spend. - Deep knowledge of design and program management tooling ecosystems such as Figma, Linear, Jira, and asset management platforms, plus excellent communication skills for executive-level audiences.
Nice to have - Design systems expertise, including building component libraries, defining tokens, and driving adoption programs. - Experience building AI-powered workflows for creative operations or design tooling integrations. - Background in hybrid or embedded team models with deep cross-functional partnership.
Benefits and work setup - Remote role open to candidates in Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, and Nova Scotia, with a flexible work model that lets employees choose where they do their best work. - Base pay range of $185,000–$195,000 CAD, plus eligibility for a new-hire equity grant and annual refresh grants, and a market-competitive benefits package.
