Role overview
A senior analytics role focused on building out the data infrastructure behind a newer business line for an online used-car retail platform. The position combines hands-on analytics engineering with stakeholder partnership across Marketing, Product, Operations, and Finance, operating in a hybrid setup in downtown Toronto.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance production dashboards and the onboarding data pipelines that internal stakeholders rely on every day. - Design new data models largely from scratch and identify additional data sources that could sharpen analysis. - Translate business questions across Marketing, Product, Operations, and Finance into trustworthy, well-documented analysis and reporting. - Build reliable, well-tested, production-ready pipelines using dbt, Airflow, and Snowflake. - Use AI-powered tooling as part of the everyday workflow to accelerate analysis, pipeline development, and iteration. - Communicate findings, models, and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical audiences, owning projects end-to-end from scoping through delivery.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data analytics, or a closely related field, with 6–7 years considered ideal. - Strong SQL expertise and comfort working across large or complex datasets. - Hands-on experience with a BI tool such as Tableau or Power BI. - Proven ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders. - Track record of owning and delivering projects end-to-end, ideally with some project management experience. - Collaborative, energetic communication style suited to a close-knit team.
Nice to have
- Consumer credit or lending analytics background, ideally from banking. - Fintech or SaaS fintech experience. - Day-to-day use of AI tools inside an analytics workflow. - Python or another coding language. - Existing experience with dbt, Airflow, and Snowflake.
