Remote job
Data Analyst
Job details
About this role
Role overview Remote full-time contractor opportunity for a Data Analyst based in Latin America, working U.S. business hours. The role is a build-then-operate position: stand up a business intelligence stack from zero across roughly eight SaaS systems, then own the company-wide KPI framework and reporting on top of it. The work is split between technical implementation and clear executive communication, reporting directly to the COO and partnering with every department lead.
Responsibilities - Architect and implement a reporting stack from scratch, including source connections, a central data layer, and Looker as the front end, selecting the right ETL approach for each source. - Consolidate data from e-commerce, CRM, accounting, shipping, e-signature, HR, analytics, and project management systems into one reconciled layer. - Own the company-wide KPI framework, including definitions, targets, and monthly reporting across all departments and brands. - Build Looker dashboards that department leads can use independently, plus a monthly executive package that drives specific recommendations. - Investigate data discrepancies, trace them to root causes, and partner with department leads to fix quality issues at the source. - Document every data source, model, and process so reporting does not depend on a single individual.
Requirements - 3–5 years in a data analyst, BI, or analytics engineering role with hands-on responsibility for the whole stack. - Strong SQL skills and experience building or managing a cloud data warehouse such as BigQuery, Snowflake, or Redshift. - Practical experience implementing ETL or ingestion from SaaS APIs using tools like Fivetran, Airbyte, or direct connectors. - Demonstrated ability to build dashboards in Looker or Looker Studio from scratch, including the underlying data model. - Track record of explaining analysis to non-analysts and presenting to executives in plain language. - Comfort working as the only data person in the building, with strong documentation habits.
Nice to have - E-commerce and CRM data experience, particularly with Shopify and Pipedrive. - Familiarity with accounting concepts such as margin, COGS, and contribution. - Python or similar scripting for data manipulation and automation. - Prior experience integrating data from an acquired company into an existing reporting structure.
