About this role
Role overview A founding engineering role on an early-stage team building US operations and core banking infrastructure for digital assets and financial technology. The position owns important systems end to end and helps shape a programmable banking platform designed to move money reliably at scale. Engineers ship to production early, learn the banking domain quickly, and operate with high individual ownership over architecture, data modeling, and delivery decisions.
Responsibilities - Ship production code early while ramping up on the existing codebase, product surface, and banking domain. - Lead projects end to end as an individual contributor, from initial concept through implementation and production. - Translate complex financial and banking problems into reliable software that operates at scale. - Make decisions on system design, data modeling, and architectural tradeoffs. - Collaborate with engineering, product, and client-facing teams to evolve core banking systems. - Build simple, automated solutions that minimize operational effort and remain easy to maintain.
Requirements - At least 3 years of hands-on backend software engineering experience. - At least 1 year of experience in an early-stage company or small startup environment. - A track record of writing clean, correct, maintainable code and taking strong ownership of quality. - Ability to ship, iterate, and make progress in new problem areas without waiting for a detailed playbook. - Genuine interest in core banking systems and financial infrastructure. - Willingness to work from New York or relocate.
Benefits and work setup - Annual base salary of $200,000 to $400,000, plus equity. - Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) plan, relocation support, and visa support. - On-site role based in New York, New York, with relocation support available.
