DevOps Engineer

Role overview A fully remote DevOps Engineer position focused on building and scaling infrastructure that powers a high-volume financial platform serving hourly workers. The role centers on infrastructure automation, platform reliability, security and compliance, and supporting specialized AI and data science workloads in a fast-paced startup environment.

Responsibilities - Architect, automate, and manage cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code tooling - Oversee reliability, performance, and observability across production systems using self-hosted monitoring stacks - Manage dedicated infrastructure and environments for AI, data science, and machine learning workloads - Drive security and compliance initiatives, including supporting SOC 2 and PCI DSS audits and implementing technical controls - Develop and maintain internal tools that support cross-functional engineering teams - Manage AI integrations and internal AI tooling

Requirements - Three or more years of experience in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering roles - Strong expertise with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code automation - Strong security mindset applied to infrastructure design - Solid coding background with willingness to learn and work in a PHP/Laravel stack - Experience with PostgreSQL or comparable relational databases - Hands-on ability to manage infrastructure supporting AI/ML/data science workloads

Nice to have - Prior experience supporting compliance audits such as SOC 2 or PCI DSS - Background working in a fast-paced startup environment - Willingness to periodically travel for team and company on-sites
