Remote job
Hardware ASIC Packaging SI/PI Simulation and Design Lead (Remote)
Job details
About this role
Role overview
Lead signal and power integrity work for advanced ASIC packaging, from design rules and simulation through layout validation and release. You’ll collaborate with package layout, system, vendor, and silicon teams to solve demanding high-speed design problems, guide technical decisions, and support the development of complex, high-performance devices.
Responsibilities
- Develop and document design rules for ultra-high-speed signaling while balancing power, performance, and area goals. - Analyze substrate signal and power integrity, and work with layout teams on solutions spanning interposers, substrates, and circuit boards. - Design and document ASIC packages for production release, including post-layout extraction and reporting. - Define methods, processes, and tools for complex ASIC and package development. - Contribute to chip architecture and design reviews, including reviews of complex integrated and mixed-signal circuits. - Mentor engineers and promote technical reviews, postmortems, and continuous improvement across teams.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and at least eight years of relevant SI/PI experience; a master’s degree and six years; or a PhD and three years. - Knowledge of high-speed design principles, including transmission lines, electromagnetics, scattering parameters, and impedance analysis. - Experience with 56G PAM4 SerDes, channel modeling, and bit-error-rate prediction. - Experience running pre- and post-layout SI/PI simulations with industry EDA tools such as Cadence Sigrity, Ansys HFSS, or Keysight ADS. - Experience reviewing layouts and validating physical designs, plus SPICE-based circuit analysis and signal modeling.
Nice to have
- Experience with high-bandwidth memory, die-to-die links such as UCIe, or advanced 2.5D packaging technologies. - Familiarity with vector network analysis and communicating technical concepts to varied audiences.
Benefits and work setup
- Remote applicants residing in the United States may be considered for this role.
