About this role
Role overview
The Senior Product Manager will own the Payouts domain end-to-end on an embedded payroll platform that powers how businesses pay their workforce. The role focuses on a well-scoped, high-trust area — currently a stable ACH foundation — while preparing for larger moves into same-day pay and additional disbursement methods. It is a hands-on execution position that pairs closely with a dedicated engineering counterpart and cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, partner-facing capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Drive end-to-end execution on Payouts, evolving today's ACH offering toward same-day pay and new payment methods - Take ownership of a clearly defined problem space and run it with strong independent judgment rather than waiting for direction - Hold a high quality bar: catch edge cases before they ship, minimize rework, and sweat the details - Make thoughtful escalation decisions, balancing decisive action with appropriate involvement of leadership - Collaborate closely with engineering, operations, and partner-facing teams to ship reliably - Engage directly with external partner companies to understand how payouts fit their day-to-day workflows and translate those insights into product decisions
Requirements
- Product management experience in technology companies - A track record of thorough, low-iteration execution on well-scoped work — shipping things that don't come back for rework - Sound judgment about when to escalate versus resolve something independently - Comfort partnering closely with engineering, operations, and external partners to drive projects to completion - Willingness to attend an annual 3-day company offsite in the spring
Nice to have
- Payments experience (payroll and tax knowledge are considered learnable and not required)
Benefits and work setup
- Distributed US-based team; roles can be remote, hybrid, or based in offices in New York City or San Francisco - In-office and hybrid employees have offices open all week, with meals provided on Tuesdays and Thursdays, plus regular happy hours, game nights, and other in-person events - Encouraged participation in team offsites, events, and hackathons throughout the year, in addition to the annual spring retreat
