Software Engineer (Repositories)

Role overview Join a backend team focused on the infrastructure that delivers hardened software builds to enterprise customers. The Repositories team owns the customer-facing systems that serve libraries today and is laying groundwork for a unified repository experience spanning containers, APKs, and other artifact types. This is an early, infrastructure-heavy backend role where you will build and operate production Go services, package registries, and APIs that deliver artifacts at scale.

Responsibilities - Build and improve customer-facing registries, APIs, and artifact-serving systems that handle secure, reliable distribution at scale. - Implement well-scoped features from technical design through testing, rollout, monitoring, and iteration, with guidance from senior engineers. - Develop and operate backend services in Go serving current library products, while helping shape the foundation for containers, images, and APKs. - Contribute to scalability, reliability, observability, performance, and load testing work for production systems. - Participate in design discussions covering service boundaries, APIs, data flows, and operational patterns. - Help investigate and resolve production issues, building operational judgment over time.

Requirements - Two or more years of software engineering experience, including some work on backend or infrastructure systems. - Experience with Go, or strong programming experience in another language with the ability to ramp up quickly. - Familiarity with software engineering fundamentals, including testing, code review, debugging, and version control. - Interest in customer-facing infrastructure such as package registries, artifact repositories, APIs, or developer platforms. - Some exposure to deploying or operating services in production, or a strong desire to develop those skills. - Systems-oriented mindset, curiosity, and clear communication in a remote, collaborative setting.

Nice to have - Five or more years building and operating production backend or infrastructure systems. - Strong Go skills and experience with customer-facing infrastructure at scale. - Familiarity with cloud infrastructure or infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
