Role overview This director-level role leads management reporting and business analytics for a large professional services organization, translating questions from service line, Finance, and executive leadership into accurate, consistent reporting. The position partners with the data analytics team in Information Technology to develop and deploy dashboards firmwide and collaborates with Financial Planning and Analysis on monthly financial reporting. The salary range is $148,200 to $190,000, with a total rewards package focused on wellbeing and professional development.
Responsibilities - Lead, coach, and mentor a small analytics team, providing regular performance feedback and development support - Engage the data analytics team to define requirements, review logic, conduct user acceptance testing, and reconcile dashboard output to source systems - Collaborate with Financial Planning and Analysis on monthly reporting for service lines, the Finance Committee, and the Board - Establish and maintain firmwide definitions, calculation methods, and data standards for performance metrics - Advise service line and department leaders on interpreting results, identifying trends, and flagging exceptions - Prioritize the reporting and analytics portfolio with senior data leadership, balancing recurring obligations against new development requests
Requirements - Ten years of progressive experience in public accounting, financial reporting, or management reporting and analytics - Active CPA license, with audit experience preferred - Working knowledge of financial accounting, financial statement analysis, and the economics of a professional services firm - Practical experience with Microsoft Power BI and the data structures that support business intelligence platforms - Outstanding Excel and analytic skills with the ability to critically review logic, source data, and calculations - Demonstrated experience presenting to executive leadership, committees, and boards
