Senior Cloud Architect

Role overview An AI-first cloud services provider is hiring a Senior Cloud Architect to join its Managed Service Provider team. The architect will lead client engagements that design scalable, secure, cost-efficient AWS architectures while guiding cross-functional delivery teams through modern infrastructure and observability initiatives. The role is fully remote across Canada, the United States, and Latin America, with occasional travel for stakeholder meetings and conferences.

Responsibilities - Lead client engagements and provide thought leadership around scalable, next-generation cloud architectures. - Write Infrastructure as Code in multiple frameworks and break projects into independent, stable, secure components. - Lead re-platforming and refactoring efforts for existing systems and drive continuous improvement backlogs. - Design and build scalable AWS architectures with emphasis on reliability, security, and cost efficiency. - Build and maintain observability solutions using AWS-native tools and partner platforms for APM, infrastructure monitoring, logging, and tracing. - Partner with DevOps and security teams to embed resilience, security, and cost-optimization features. - Coach team members, prepare work for varying experience levels, and contribute to internal IP and open-source development. - Engage with clients through presentations, technical decisions, and education opportunities.

Requirements - AWS Associate and/or Professional Level Certification. - 2+ years of programming experience with Python, Node.js, TypeScript, Go, Java, C#, or similar languages. - Intermediate experience building scalable, automated infrastructure. - Intermediate experience in large-scale enterprise IT environments. - Intermediate experience in a consultative, client-facing consulting role. - Intermediate experience with cloud-native patterns such as AWS Lambda. - Working knowledge of AWS and application observability concepts. - Strong verbal and written communication, documentation, and presentation skills.
