Manager, Firmware Engineering

Role overview Lead the team that turns trained AI models into reliable firmware running on millions of connected devices in the field. Responsibilities - Lead a team of roughly five firmware and machine learning engineers who build, optimise, and deploy AI models on fleet and industrial devices - Provide hands-on technical leadership by contributing directly to the design, implementation, and optimisation of high-performance production systems - Set the technical bar for edge ML and embedded systems, guiding architecture decisions on latency, power, memory, and model performance - Partner with Product, Hardware, and full-stack teams to take features from concept through deployment and continuously improve them - Shape the engineering roadmap, working with leadership on quarterly plans that balance product ambition with engineering health - Build a team culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement with a high bar for execution quality - Scale organisational culture and cross-functional relationships required to launch low-latency, high-quality hardware programs at scale

Requirements - Track record leading firmware or embedded engineering teams that ship to production hardware at scale - Deep experience with edge ML deployment, including optimisation for constrained devices - Strong architecture skills across latency, power, memory, and model performance tradeoffs - Demonstrated ability to partner across product, hardware, and software teams to deliver integrated products - Experience mentoring engineers and growing high-performing teams - Comfort operating in a fast-paced environment shipping safety-critical features

Nice to have - Experience integrating high-performance camera systems and real-time edge computing into consumer or industrial hardware products
