Forward Deployed Product Manager

Role overview Lead the product workstream in client programs that redesign how product and engineering teams build software with AI-assisted methods. You assess current practices, shape a future product development lifecycle, and coach product managers as their work shifts toward directing and validating AI-supported delivery. In build engagements, you turn discovery into a clear sprint plan and actionable specifications for prototype or MVP development.

Responsibilities - Assess product team practices and design future-state discovery, planning, and development processes. - Facilitate client discovery, shape backlogs, and agree on sprint goals and delivery specifications. - Coach product managers and run training sessions grounded in active engagement work. - Collaborate with engineering leads to ensure specifications are feasible and support handoff into implementation. - Improve product-facing AI agents and tooling through field feedback on prompts, workflows, and use cases. - Convert engagement learnings into reusable methods and templates, and contribute to relevant pre-sales discussions.

Requirements - At least seven years of product management experience, including meaningful client-facing, embedded, or consulting work. - Direct experience improving product team discovery, development lifecycle, and specification practices. - Experience using, or demonstrated capability with, agentic AI to support product management activities. - Strong facilitation skills: able to surface useful information from ambiguous discussions and guide stakeholders to decisions. - Ability to write clear, executable specifications and coach others to do the same. - Technical fluency to scope prototypes and discuss feasibility and architecture with engineers.

Nice to have - Professional services, consulting, or embedded advisory experience. - Experience changing how a product function operates, beyond delivering recommendations. - Familiarity with AI-native product practices such as spec-driven development, AI-assisted requirements, or agentic tooling. - Experience in enterprise engineering or portfolio company environments.
