A community-focused financial institution is hiring a Product Owner to lead its core banking platform and the suite of connected products that support deposits, loans, payments, treasury operations, and digital channels. Responsibilities
- Own the core banking platform and related ancillary products, acting as the primary subject matter expert and business voice for system direction. - Define and communicate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap, aligning it with business goals, regulatory expectations, and customer needs. - Gather, document, and prioritize requirements from stakeholders; turn them into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and a well-groomed backlog. - Partner with IT, vendors, and business users to deliver high-quality releases on time, including leading user acceptance testing and managing configuration changes. - Serve as the liaison between line-of-business leaders, operations, compliance, and technology, running demonstrations, roadmap reviews, and stakeholder updates. - Monitor system performance, oversee vendor SLAs, and ensure all changes meet regulatory, audit, and risk standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, information systems, or a related field. - At least 5 years of experience in banking operations, technology, or product management. - Familiarity with core banking platforms (such as Fiserv, FIS, Jack Henry, Temenos, or Finastra) and ancillary products covering treasury, deposit and loan origination, or digital banking. - Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with high attention to detail, including advanced Excel capability. - Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and communicate them to diverse stakeholders. - Experience creating and leading presentations for internal audiences and working across cross-functional teams.
Nice to have
- Working knowledge of Agile delivery and tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps. - Experience with dashboard reporting applications.
