Job details
About this role
Role overview Own and evolve a data platform that makes medical imaging and related records reliable, traceable, and ready for AI model development and evaluation. This is a hands-on senior engineering role: you will implement and operate production data systems while working with AI, infrastructure, product, quality, regulatory, and clinical colleagues.
Responsibilities - Own the registry’s application and data architecture, from original assets through enriched records to versioned training and evaluation datasets. - Build ingestion pipelines for data arriving from clinical institutions, imaging devices, annotation tools, and product workflows. - Define validation and interface contracts so incomplete uploads, retries, and malformed metadata are handled safely and visibly. - Develop the data model and services for medical images, annotations, patient and sample identity, deduplication, and dataset curation. - Write, test, review, deploy, debug, and maintain production Python and SQL code. - Make data provenance and transformations clear enough to support reproducible experiments and releases.
Requirements - Senior-level experience building and operating production data systems. - Strong hands-on Python and SQL skills, including relational data modeling. - Ability to design dependable ingestion, validation, and data processing workflows. - Careful approach to data correctness, traceability, and reproducibility. - Effective collaboration with engineering, clinical, and quality or regulatory teams. - Existing authorization to work in the EU; visa or relocation sponsorship is unavailable.
Benefits and work setup - Salary of €70,000–€95,000, depending on experience and fit; 30 days of paid leave and a 40-hour week. - Flexible core hours, with a stated 10:00–15:00 window, and choice of Mac, Windows, or Ubuntu computer. - Hybrid work in Dresden is preferred; fully remote work within EU time zones may be possible. - English is the working language; German is not required. Additional German benefits are negotiable.
