Role overview A remote Staff/Senior Accountant opportunity sits within the finance team of a fast-growing cloud-based learning platform that serves certification, credentialing, and continuing education providers. The role reports to the Controller and centers on accurate financial records, analytical reporting, and regulatory compliance. It is well suited to someone who wants both hands-on accounting work and exposure to budgeting, forecasting, and audit support.

Responsibilities - Run the accounting function end to end: reconciliations, journal entries, AR, AP, and billing. - Analyze company expenditures, confirm allocations across departments, and report variances back to stakeholders. - Confirm transaction treatment against GAAP and company policies, with attention to revenue recognition. - Maintain the general ledger and post monthly, quarterly, and annual accruals. - Contribute to financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow) and budget variance reporting. - Prepare year-end schedules for tax filings and recommend improvements to accounting procedures.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in accounting; CPA preferred. - 3-5 years (Staff) or 5-8 years (Senior) in accounting or auditing; public accounting experience a plus. - Strong foundation in GAAP, financial statement preparation, and revenue recognition. - Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain financial data to non-finance audiences. - Advanced Excel skills and proven ability to manage multiple priorities on deadline. - Self-starter mindset with strong ownership and follow-through.

Nice to have - Prior use of NetSuite, Intacct, or QuickBooks in a production accounting environment.
