Senior DevOps Engineer

Role overview

Senior DevOps Engineer role dedicated to improving the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of infrastructure and deployment processes for a global communications and media intelligence platform. Responsibilities

- Oversee the reliability, performance, and security of critical production services from design through deployment. - Partner with development, QA, and product teams to build resilient infrastructure and efficient deployment pipelines. - Automate infrastructure provisioning and software delivery using infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD tooling. - Participate in and improve a 24/7 on-call process, including rapid troubleshooting and root cause analysis. - Document and standardise processes and configurations, sharing knowledge across the engineering organisation.

Requirements

- Five or more years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or software engineering roles with increasing responsibility for system design and operations. - Extensive production experience with containerisation using Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes, including cluster management and scaling. - Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation, and configuration management tools such as Ansible or Puppet. - Strong coding and scripting ability in languages such as Python, Go, or Ruby, with experience building automation tooling. - Deep knowledge of AWS or GCP and experience designing cloud-based infrastructure at scale. - Solid grasp of networking and security fundamentals in cloud and on-prem environments. - Experience setting up and tuning monitoring and alerting systems such as Prometheus and Grafana, with a strong understanding of SLIs, SLOs, and incident management.

Nice to have

- Hands-on experience with Kafka, MySQL or Postgres, Redis, or Elasticsearch.
