Role overview
Site Reliability Engineer position focused on designing, building, and maintaining resilient systems that underpin critical operations. The role is hands-on and provides room to shape technical direction, improve platform performance, and contribute to meaningful projects. Initial work is fully remote, with the possibility of an on-site presence in Bristol a few days per week after clearance.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain reliable, scalable physical and virtual infrastructure. - Monitor system performance and proactively resolve issues before they escalate. - Automate operational processes using configuration management tooling such as Ansible to improve consistency. - Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders across the business on shared initiatives. - Support continuous improvement of systems, tools, and working practices. - Operate across the full infrastructure stack, from bare metal through virtualised environments and the applications they host.
Requirements
- Background in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or a closely related discipline. - Strong working knowledge of at least one major cloud platform such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. - Practical experience with infrastructure-as-code and configuration management tools such as Terraform and Ansible. - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and broader automation practices. - Understanding of monitoring, logging, and alerting systems. - A collaborative mindset and a genuine interest in problem-solving.
