Role overview A full-time, remote DevOps Engineer position focused on building and maintaining cloud infrastructure for a healthcare technology platform that supports patients across pre-surgical, acute, post-acute, and chronic care settings. The role is an individual contributor opportunity aligned to Eastern Standard Time working hours, with work directly influencing the reliability, security, and scalability of services that affect patient outcomes.
Responsibilities - Design and operate cloud infrastructure emphasizing scalability, high availability, and cost-efficiency for production services. - Implement Infrastructure-as-Code deployments that enable fully automated continuous delivery across staging, test, and production environments. - Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, ArgoCD, and GitHub Actions. - Own monitoring, alerting, and observability practices for critical services, including contributing to on-call responsibilities. - Develop disaster recovery and backup/restore strategies, and harden cloud security through controls like WAF, KMS, Secrets Manager, certificate management, IAM, and audit logging. - Document cloud infrastructure designs and operational processes for ongoing maintainability.
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline. - 3-5 years of combined software engineering and DevOps experience, including at least 2 years operating cloud-deployed SaaS applications. - Working knowledge of AWS services such as EKS, EC2, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, Route 53, and CloudWatch. - Solid grasp of networking fundamentals and container technologies, particularly Docker and Kubernetes, plus familiarity with protocols like HTTP, DNS, TCP, and IP routing. - Hands-on expertise with at least one Infrastructure-as-Code tool such as CloudFormation, Terraform, or CDK. - Experience with monitoring stacks like Datadog or Prometheus/Grafana.
Nice to have - AWS CDK and AWS Solutions Constructs using TypeScript, Java, or Python. - Experience deploying and maintaining ML/AI workloads in production, including batch and real-time inference, or supporting LLM-based systems such as prompt pipelines, retrieval-augmented generation, and embeddings integrated into CI/CD. - Familiarity with authentication and authorization patterns including JWT, OAuth, OIDC, RBAC/ACLs, and Open Policy Agent. - Exposure to microservices and serverless architectures using ECS, Lambda, and API Gateway. - Awareness of OWASP Top 10 and cloud security scanning for images and code. - Healthcare industry experience and familiarity with HIPAA requirements related to ingestion, processing, storage, and serving of patient data.
