Role overview
A Producer role embedded with an engineering systems organization at a gaming studio, focused on keeping development workflows, builds, testing, and engineering systems running predictably. The Producer coordinates day-to-day execution across engineering, product, and QA partners, drives Agile ceremonies, and provides clear visibility into milestones, dependencies, risks, and blockers across multiple workstreams.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies including stand-ups, sprint planning, triage, office hours, and retrospectives, and manage sprint planning, velocity, capacity, and delivery commitments. - Create and maintain sprint and milestone dashboards, calendars, trackers, and transition checklists, and monitor backlog health in partnership with leads and product managers. - Identify, track, and escalate risks, dependencies, blockers, and delivery concerns across teams. - Create user story stubs, tasks, and bugs alongside engineering leads and product managers, and maintain accurate work-management documentation, action logs, and follow-up workflows. - Prepare meeting invitations, agendas, and pre-reads, run meetings synchronously or asynchronously, and represent workstreams in release forums across engineering, product, creative partners, and leadership. - Coordinate release readiness, partner with QA on validation and test plans, track unresolved bugs and release risks, and escalate cross-team decisions when needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of experience in engineering, product management, technical program management, data analysis, product development, or production environments. - Hands-on experience with work-management and collaboration tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, or Confluence. - Working knowledge of Agile or Scrum methodologies, including sprint planning, team velocity, capacity, and milestone delivery. - Experience coordinating projects, workstreams, or deliverables across multiple stakeholders. - Strong communication skills with the ability to bridge creative professionals, engineers, product stakeholders, and executive-level audiences. - Comfort operating in a changing environment and adapting priorities quickly while staying productive.
Nice to have
- Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent. - Prior Producer or Technical Program Manager experience within a gaming studio. - 4+ years managing cross-functional or cross-team projects. - Experience coordinating complex technical initiatives spanning engineering, QA, product, and other partner teams. - Demonstrated ability to motivate cross-functional teams and resolve conflicts under tight deadlines. - Strong background in Agile execution, backlog management, and release coordination, including environments where delivery predictability and dependency management are critical.
