Job details
About this role
Role overview This is a senior individual contributor engineering position focused on building and shipping an AI-native interpretation and translation platform used across healthcare, legal, government, and enterprise settings. The work centers on an internal agentic development framework in which AI is part of how every change is designed, written, tested, and released. Engineers hired at this level own real scope, raise the bar for the pod they sit in, and shape technical direction without managing people.
Responsibilities - Own a system, feature area, or broader technical scope end-to-end, including its existence and reliability - Use the internal agentic framework daily to build features, then improve it by adding prompts, configs, workflows, and guardrails adopted by other engineers - Watch for AI-specific failure modes such as hallucination, drift, and prompt injection, and design mitigations into the framework - Maintain automated agentic testing (the Gate), drive escaped-defect trends downward, and address root causes at the system level - Lead design discussions, author design documents that peers rely on, mentor engineers, and influence decisions across pods - Run experiments, measure results, and package learnings so the rest of the organization can apply them
Requirements - 4+ years of professional software engineering experience with a track record of owning a system or feature area - Daily, fluent use of AI-assisted development, with the ability to defend every line of generated code - Experience mentoring other engineers and leading design discussions - Experience owning quality for a production area, including automated testing and escaped-defect analysis - Clear written communication, especially design documents that other engineers reference - A force-multiplier mindset: improving how the whole pod works, not just personal output
Nice to have - Improvements to a shared AI or agentic framework adopted by engineers outside your team - Experience leading cross-team initiatives or advising engineering leadership - Background with models, data and retrieval, or evaluation and safety infrastructure - Experience setting organization-level technical strategy tied to business outcomes - Familiarity with real-time communications, interpreting, or language technology
Benefits and work setup - Hybrid or remote working arrangements - Competitive compensation with a robust benefits package, including a 401(k) plan with employer match - Flexible paid time off - Mission-driven, values-based culture described as energetic and collaborative - Equal opportunity employer with no relocation or visa sponsorship offered for this position
