Lead Software Engineer

Role overview Lead technical direction and hands-on execution for major software products and systems serving large user populations. This lead-level role combines architecture with implementation, taking critical engineering work from early problem definition through production while helping raise engineering quality across teams.

Responsibilities - Own technical design and delivery for significant products, systems, and engineering initiatives. - Design scalable, reliable solutions spanning applications, APIs, databases, and infrastructure. - Work directly in code through prototyping, reviews, debugging, and production problem solving. - Guide architecture choices by balancing speed, scalability, reliability, cost, and maintainability. - Turn ambiguous product needs into actionable technical plans. - Strengthen practices for design, testing, security, observability, and development; lead critical initiatives and mentor engineers.

Requirements - At least seven years of experience building and shipping production systems. - Deep expertise in one or more areas including backend or frontend engineering, distributed systems, APIs, databases, or cloud infrastructure. - Strong system design skills for complex or high-scale environments. - Strong coding ability and interest in remaining hands-on. - Track record leading technically significant projects through production and resolving complex operational issues. - Strong English communication and effectiveness in a distributed, international team.

Nice to have - Experience scaling systems, teams, or engineering practices during significant growth. - Experience supporting multiple products, markets, or countries.
